Building a Dream
Building a Dream

Growing up at a time when the San Francisco music scene was young and alive, rock music in the late 60's and early 70's was influenced by Pop, Funk, and Rhythm and Blues. It was a mixed palette of creative styles, always pushing the limits.
Bob Kinney launched out of high school from a concert goer, absorbing every influence he could see, and as often, to auditioning for his first successful band, Rockola, at age 17, who was recording with A&M Records out of Wally Heiders Stuidios in San Francisco and so it begins...
The road, the countless sessions as a studio musician doing commercials for radio, recording acts, and as a signed singer-songwriter with Lucent Productions working out of Wally Heiders, The Music Annex, The Record Plant, and Fantasy Records Studios.
Bob Kinney's unique style, that draws from rock, country, blues and funk influences earned him many lead guitar positions including ; Little Anthony and the Imperials, Magic Slim and the Teardrops, The Scott Joss Band (fiddle player with Dwight Yoakum and Merle Haggard) Eddie Money, the band No Secrets, (with members from Sammy Hagar, Pablo Cruise, and Copperhead) The Drifters, April and the Texas Rangers ( Bob won a Sammy for that one), Rachel Steel and Road 88 (another Sammy winner), country rockers Flat Busted to name a few.
With an opportunity in 1990 for something a little different, Bob moved onto the Nevada Casino circuit, from Reno to Las Vegas playing lounges 6 nights a week, then moving right into the showrooms, with 9 production shows under his belt which included, "American Superstars", "Red Hot Country" (musical director for a season), the acclaimed swing show "Work That Skirt", "Escape", "Full Body Rock", to name a few.
Bob's rockin creative style once again earned him the opportunity to be musical director for two of the best touring tribute acts ; Rubber Biscuit (a tribute to the Blues Brothers) and Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads (a celebration of Jimmy Buffets music).
Now returning to the S.F. Bay Area with his own unique style, sound, and band, with extensive experience in clubs, concerts and festivals, always with a smile.... "THE LIVIN DAYLITES"
